Turning twelve ❐

   "So...mom have anything special tomorrow?"Mildred asked her mom who was carrying Mildred's newborn sister cradling her to sleep.Dark circles were under her eyes.With a newborn in the house having peaceful sleep was a very rare occasion."Oh Millie can you get your sister's bottle thank you.Uh nothing special tomorrow."Mildred's mom replied looking flustered.Stubbornly Mildred gave her mom the bottle and dashed to her room.

  Her room was very nice with a purple theme.She took some biscuits from her secret stash of food and cuddled her teddy bear.It was her Birthday tomorrow and her mom had forgotten.It was not everyday you were turning twelve.She called her bestie Lily to tell her about her mom forgetting her birthday."Don't worry Millie.I will take matters to my own hands.Just meet me at the playground at nine in the morning tomorrow!"Lily said enthusiastically.Mildred wiped her tears.She had no idea of what crazy plan was going to happen the next day.

  The next day Mildred was woken up to the cries of her sister.She took a shower and got dressed.She wore a new jeans with her favourite new butterfly top.Since as always she was the first to get up she made herself some pancakes."Nice birthday treat,"She muttered to herself with a smile.Her mom woke up and the first thing she said to Mildred was not happy birthday instead a lecture"Mildred!Instead of making some pancakes and eating it you could have helped me by making your sister sleep!"

  Just then Lily said a text to Mildred saying to pack a lot of things for a sleep over.Mildred got a sudden happiness and quickly packed stuff she usually packed for a sleepover.As she tried to escape her mom saw her, raised an eyebrow and said"Where are you going?Mildred responded daringly"Just take of your baby yourself.If you cannot even remember my birthday why should I help you?"She immediately left the house and went to the playground to see Lily waiting at the playground.Lily gave her a big hug and said "happy birthday bestie!I have some tricks up my sleeve."They went to Mildred's favourite mall to go to her favourite restraunt.They had a big lunch and went to go play at the arcade.Soon later they went back to Lily's house which was fully decorated for Mildred's birthday.Mildred just stood in awe as Lily gave her two presents.

  "Hope you like it!"Lily said with a grin.Mildred open her presents and she got two amazing presents both she wished her mom would have given her.A brush marker set and some new clothes.Mildred gave Lily a big hug and said thanks.Then it was time to cut the cake.Lily's mom had made a rainbow cake just for Mildred knowing it was her favourite.Lily also contributed by making some cupcakes.After eating all those cakes Lily's dad organised some games for Mildred and Lily to play.Time passed so fast until they went to Lily's room to have the sleepover.

  Next morning it was time for Mildred to go home.She gave Lily"s whole family a big bear-like hug and went home.A sudden panic surged through Mildred.She knew she was going to hear an earful from her mom.She entered her home all the happiness draining from her body.Her mom heard the door open and approached her.Mildred smiled at her but recieved a stern look in return."Wait here,"Mildred's mom said.There was some anger in her voice.When Mildred's mom returned she was holding two boxes and a suitcase."I talked to your dad.You are moving in with him.Go to bed for now.He will pick you up tomorrow."

   Mildred did not protest.She put her bag where the boxes where and scurried to her room.She packed the remainder items into her suitcase and went to bed.Mildred's mom divorced her dad when her sister was born.Mildred and her dad loved each other dearly but due to her mother's decision she was not allowed to meet her dad or talk to him.Although it had just been one month she did not talk to him she was eager to go to her dad's house.

  The next day she woke up early and got ready to meet her dad wearing a new dress that Lily bought for her.The doorbell ringed at seven in the morning.Since her mom was not awake she opened the door and saw her dad.Mildred's dad was similar to her in many ways.Both of them were naturally smart, look younger than their actual age and both of them were humble.At the sight of her dad looking better than ever Mildred gave hime a big hug."I know it's been just one month but it seemed forever.I have got loads to tell you.I can't wait for you to move in with me Millie,"her dad chuckled.Her dad entered the house and took a seat on the sofa.Mildred sat next to him and both of them were catching up with each other.

  After a few minutes,Mildred and her dad heard a baby cry.Mildred's mother came out of the room and saw Mildred's dad."I am glad you're here.You can start helping by taking Mildred's boxes.I will talk to Mildred then send her down,"Mildred's mom said coldly.Her father nodded and started taking the luggage.

  She motioned me to sit next to her and said,"Millie you are being sent away from home as you had been on bad behaviour by going out of home without my permission and not caring about me or Lulu.Lulu is your sister.I hope in the future you will take care of her.Anyway bye Millie, don't worry I will come visit you with Lulu."

  Mildred looked at her blankly."I don't want you to visit me."Her mom looked shocked, angry and sad at the same time.Mildred rushed downstairs to meet her dad.She hopped onto his luxurious car and she and her dad drove away from Mildred's mom, a monster.
